DS Oram and Associates provides specialised heavy lift and general cargo survey services, and ship operators,  exporters, South African and international cargo importers, adjustment and claims recovery services.Clients include leading South African Marine Insurers, along with cargo claims investigation, and UK-based marine mutual insurance companies. DS Oram and Associates also develops and implements specialised cargo risk management and loss control programmes for clients. He is a former Executive Director of Unicorn Lines, South Africa, and a UK insurance mutual and a Member of the Mar. DS Oram and Associates was established in May 2008 by David and Syd Oram.  David Oram is the Managing Member and Surveyor.  He has 13 years experience in cargo surveying and has specialist knowledge of heavy lift and project cargo surveying and handling. He has done surveys in Europe, South America, sub-Saharan Africa countries and Madagascar.  Syd Oram had 45 years experience in the shipping industry.
